New Class: Hero Holidays

Join Elisabeth for this four card Holiday class featuring Hero Arts 2023 Holiday release.  We’ll be playing with dies, stencils, embossing, inks and sprays!  Beautiful color combinations and just the right touch of shimmer make these cards stand out!  (And that poinsettia die is just gorgeous!)

2023 Holiday Card Swap

Wouldn’t we all like to receive five beautiful, unique, handmade holiday cards, created by our fellow Paper Anthologists? Well, let’s do it! Sign up for the 2023 Paper Anthology Holiday Card Swap by emailing elisabeth@paperanthology no later than Saturday, November 25th. Then make five holiday cards (they can be of the same design, or different) and drop them off (with appropriate envelopes) at Paper Anthology by Saturday, December 2nd. Your swap cards will be ready for you to pick up on Saturday, December 9th. Participants who make a sixth card will have it displayed in the store for all to admire.

Please note: For this event we request that no products from demonstrator companies (such as Stampin’ Up or Close to My Heart) be included in your card designs.

Need a little inspiration to get started? We’ve got some gorgeous new holiday paper lines in-store, including Echo Park’s Winter Land (see photo above) as well as Doodlebug’s Gingerbread Kisses and Carta Bella’s Season’s Greetings (both pictured below). Not to mention lots of beautiful stamps and dies from all your favorite companies; and don’t forget the lovely Press Plates and accessories for Spellbinders’ BetterPress System. In fact, there are too many options to describe in one post… you should probably stop by the store and take a look!

Lawn Fawnatics Rejoice!

Lawn Fawn’s 2023 Fall and Winter collection has just arrived at Paper Anthology and is now available in-store! As always, Lawn Fawn’s adorable critters, pretty papers, clever die sets and awesome accessories are so much cooler in real life than photos can capture or a paragraph can describe, so if you possibly can, stop by Paper Anthology ASAP and satisfy your Fawnatical cravings in person! (Plus… we’d love to see ya!)

These items (& some other cool new stuff) will be available to purchase online as of next week. Local customers, when purchasing online, remember to select the “pick up in store” option at checkout; you’ll avoid shipping charges and we’ll hold your items until whenever it’s convenient for you to pick them up. Holiday Jumpstart: Bells Are Ringing (Card Kit with Dies)

August’s Holiday Jumpstart Card Kit is our pre-packaged kit that includes everything you need (except ink and adhesives) to complete FIVE copies of this new original holiday card design. It’s called “Bells Are Ringing” and includes Honey Bee’s Layering Holiday Bells die set, which we think you’ll get plenty of use out of in future holiday cardmaking! Kits are available in-store and online for $38. Locals, be sure to choose the “PICK UP IN STORE” option at checkout to save on shipping.

Everyone probably loves the IDEA of making holiday cards throughout the year, instead being overloaded in November and December, but honestly, it can be difficult to be inspired during the “off-season”. Paper Anthology’s Christmas Card Club is a wonderful solution, but it fills up quickly, and what if you can’t make it to the store one Friday night per month? Here’s an additional option that works entirely on your schedule.

This kit contains:

    • Honey Bee’s Layering Holiday Bells die set;
    • Enough light pink, dark pink, silver, gold and white glitter cardstock to make five pairs of layered bell diecuts with bow accents;
    • Five A2 white card bases;
    • Five 5.25 x 4″ pierced cardstock background panels with assorted washi tape accent strips;
    • Five pre-cut sheet music ovals with gold cardstock oval mats;
    • Five pre-cut “Noel” sentiments;
    • Five deep evergreen and five pale juniper branches;

Christmas in July: Take Ten (& Holiday Jumpstart)

If you answered, “Pretty darn cool!” then this one-day, extra-special, quick and easy card class, Christmas in July: Take Ten is definitely for you! Join Lauren from 12-3pm on Saturday, July 29th for this Xmas Xtravaganza: we’ll start with a sheet of ten journal cards from Photoplay’s It’s a Wonderful Christmas collection, add pre-cut patterned paper mats, washi tape, brads, diecuts, ribbon and sparkly things… et voila… you’ll go home with an instant collection of eight A2 holiday cards and two slightly larger cards (for the latter, A6 envelopes will be provided).

There are just eight seats available for the class, but... the same supplies will also be available as July’s Holiday Jumpstart Card Kit, which can be pre-ordered now.

Kits Galore: Classic, New and Re-stocked!

If you missed the SHELL-ebration class, it’s now available as a Paper Anthology Class in a Kit, with a large full-color photo and step-by-step instructions. If you own the Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Pencils, this is a great way to practice with them; but if not you can use any coloring media with similar shades… OR branch out and do your own thing! April’s Holiday Jumpstart Kit: Joy and Holly sold out extra-quickly, so here’s a second version with a slightly different green patterned paper as the diecut panel. We think it looks equally nice, and if you agree, you can purchase it in-store or by visiting the product page HERE.

This kit includes Memory Box’s beautiful Serene Bird and Branch Die Set, which we think you’ll get a lot of use from, both for holiday cards AND the rest of the year! May CCC: Home for Christmas

Join Elisabeth on May 12th for another edition of Paper Anthology’s Christmas Card Club: This sophisticated slimline card is brought to you by Impression Obsession– a beautiful serene image of a cottage in a  snow-filled forest, softly watercolored and shimmering with fresh fallen snow (you can’t tell in the photo, but there’s sparkly glitter all over!)

Christmas Card Club is the perfect solution for those of us who dread the prospect of mass-producing dozens of holiday cards in December! At each meeting, we’ll debut a brand new original holiday card design and pull together all the paper, embellishments and supplies you’ll need to make five cards of that design; all you have to do is show up and assemble them. A fun way to enjoy a crafty night out and get a jump on holiday card production… and dinner is included! New members are always welcome, but each date fills up FAST, so don’t hesitate. Please note that while the meeting starts at 5pm, you do not have to arrive by 5 – you should be able to complete all 5 cards, even if you can’t arrive until later.

Christmas Card Club is BACK!

The next Paper Anthology Christmas Card Club meeting will take place on Friday, March 3, 2023, from 5-9pm. We’ll be making this adorably ornament-al card featuring Sunny Studio stamps on a background of evergreens with a gorgeous gold-embossed sentiment and the perfect touch of plaid.

If you’re new to Paper Anthology’s Christmas Card Club, you should know that it’s our solution to the prospect of making ALL of our holiday cards in December. Instead, we start early in the year, and, at each meeting, we debut a brand new original Christmas card design. We pull together all the paper, embellishments and supplies you’ll need to make five cards of that design; all you have to do is show up and assemble them. This is a fun way to enjoy a crafty night out and get a jump on holiday card production! The cost is $25, dinner is included and new members are always welcome! There’s no need to commit to every meeting, we take individual, first-come-first-served sign-ups for each meeting. But… the session always fills up FAST! So be sure to reserve your place quickly by emailing elisabeth@paperanthology.com.

Please note that while the meetings start at 5pm, you do not have to arrive by 5 – you should be able to complete all five cards, even if you can’t arrive until later. Please bring your basic kit and a little bit of holiday spirit!

Holiday Jumpstart: Warm Winter Wishes

February’s Holiday Jumpstart Card Kit is now available at Paper Anthology!

We ALL love the idea of making our holiday cards during the year, but sometimes, it’s difficult to be inspired during the “off-season”, isn’t it? Paper Anthology’s Christmas Card Club is a wonderful solution, but it fills up quickly, and what if you can’t make it to the store one Friday night per month? Here’s a brand new alternative (because Christmas Card Club WILL be back in early March!) that works entirely on your schedule.

It’s a pre-packaged kit we’ve called Holiday Jumpstart (cute name, right?) that includes everything you need (except adhesive) to complete FIVE copies of a brand new original holiday card design. This month’s edition is called “Warm Winter Wishes” because of that pretty sentiment from Taylored Expressions; and also features textured panels made with Sunny Studio’s Cable Knit Embossing Folder and some softly shimmering snowflakes courtesy of Impression Obsession’s Primative Snowflakes die set.

In the kit, you’ll get: 

  • Five grocer’s kraft A2 card bases; 
  • Five deep blue Kraft-Core panels embossed with Sunny Studio’s Cable Knit Embossing Folder; 
  • Five pre-stamped sentiment strips; 
  • Five large and five medium Ivory Shimmer snowflake diecuts;  
  • Enough gold and white baker’s twine to surround five sentiment strips;
  • Ten tiny brass brads;
  • Sandpaper for distressing; 
  • Complete directions, product details and full color photos.
