February’s Holiday Jumpstart Kit (with Stamps!)

Say hello to Holiday Jumpstart: Christmas Sampler, which features (and INCLUDES!) Stamperia’s beautiful Christmas Borders Stamp Set, a nine-stamp photopolymer set that might be the most versatile ever and it’s easy to line up and position perfectly.

Paper Anthology’s Holiday Jumpstart Card Kit is our pre-packaged kit that includes everything you need (except inks and adhesives) to complete FIVE copies of this new original holiday card design. It’s called “Christmas Sampler” since the design is reminiscent of a needlework sampler… but in this case the results are mailable and achieved without any wrist strain! May Arts green gingham ribbon and a sentiment diecut from Concord & 9th’s Seasonal Sayings set add to the homespun-but-polished feel of this nostalgic design. This kit is available for $36 in-store and online; CLICK HERE to go directly to the product page. Locals, be sure to choose the “PICK UP IN STORE” option at checkout to save on shipping and we’ll keep it behind the counter until you’ve got time to pick it up.

Don’t we all adore the IDEA of making holiday cards throughout the year, instead being overloaded in November and December? But sometimes it’s hard to be inspired during the “off-season”. Paper Anthology’s Christmas Card Club is a wonderful solution, but it fills up quickly, and what if you can’t make it to the store one Friday night per month? Here’s an additional, self-paced option that works entirely on your schedule.

This pre-packaged kit features everything you need (except inks and adhesives) to complete five beautiful, detailed and colorful cards, including complete written instructions, suggested ink colors, and a nice big photo for reference.

This kit contains:

  • Stamperia’s Christmas Borders Clear Stamp Set
  • Five ivory panels to stamp on
  • Five olive green cardstock mats
  • Five pre-diecut red metallic “MERRY” sentiments
  • Enough May Arts gingham ribbon to wrap around five panels
  • Enough Taylored Expressions Tiny Diamond embellishments (in Cherry Pop and Lime Zest) to complete the design
  • Complete step-by-step instruction sheet with large color photo
  • Recommended ink colors for Ranger Archivals, Distress Inks, or generic shades
  • Five top-fold kraft A2 cards

Quilty

Good morning everyone!  I’ve been playing with the Concord and 9th stamp set – Bits and Pieces to get some “Hi, How are you?” cards made for our Cards Pals group when I saw this weeks challenge at Shopping our Stash – SOS 387 : inspired by quilting!  Well, this set has some bits and pieces that totally had me feeling quilty, so I pulled together a quick thank you card using distress inks and a great new word die from Hero Arts.  A little bit of faux stitching pulls everything together!

Rainbow bright!

Good morning!  I was up late, late late last night doing my favorite thing – playing in my craft room while the TV played quietly in the background.  Well, it was netflix, and not so quiet, but I digress…  What was on my craft table?  A very odd assortment – a rainbow, a jam jar and a vest – the beginnings of a plan for a class I like to call “a random bunch of cards”.  I played with the rainbow first, a quirky stamp set from Concord and 9th.  I ended up with a card that was perfect for this week’s challenge at  Shopping our stash, since it had a sprinkling of hearts on it.  Entirely stamped in an assortment of bright Ranger Archival inks, (carnation red, tiger lily,  yellow chrome, vivid chartreuse, manganese blue and violet)  all I could think of the whole time was Ranger’s new release for creativation – 12 new mini archival inks to match the Distress line of colors, and we won’t have to wait too long as they should be shipping in a couple weeks.  I can’t wait to get my hands on them!!!  Anyways, here’s the card, hope you like it!

Christmas Card Swap!

Ladies your cards are ready to be picked up!  I have to applaud each and every one of you, what gorgeous cards!!!   Sharing three cards that really caught my eye (it was a very tough decision!)

Linda S. created this clean and simple card with a background die from Taylored Expressions and a sentiment die from Impression Obsession – classic and striking!

Gail P. used a Concord and 9th turnabout stamp and the triple step stamping technique.  The mirricard die cut sentiment is the perfect touch!

Shelly D. created a beautiful scene combining Taylored Expressions stamps, a  Penny Black Lamppost die and an Impression Obsession carolers die.  An inky background and sparkly snow sets the scene perfectly!

…and yes, I just HAD to create the Tim Holtz Holiday Hack with the ombre bottle brush trees on the vintage ruler – such a cute decoration and really quick and easy to make!

Thanks for stopping by – please leave a note so I know you visited!

I did a card challenge!!!

I used to LOVE doing online card challenges, absolutely loved being, well, challenged to create out of my comfort zone.  Color challenges, sketch challenges – you name it, I did it!  Well it’s been years since I’ve done one (at least 7 years!) and I decided it was time to carve out some time and get challenged!  This week I decided to join the Tic Tac Toe challenge at Shopping Our Stash.    (SOS380)

Choose a line, horizontal, perpendicular or diagonal and use all the elements in your card.  I chose straight down the middle – stamps (of course), stash more than 5 years old and Happy Birthday.  Here’s my card:

For the stamps, I used a lovely set from Concord and 9th called “Just Because” and a sentiment from Cats Life Press.

As to the “stash older than 5 years” part, I used a piece of patterned paper from Rouge De’ Garance from 2006.  I stamped the flowers and background block with some original distress inks that I have had for at least a dozen years – antique linen, tattered rose and worn lipstick.  (although they’ve been re-inked many, many times since then…)

The birthday wishes sentiment, leaves and branches were stamped with Archival ink.

Thanks for stopping by!
