12 tags tradition

Once again Tim Holtz is sharing his 12 tags of Christmas with us.  It’s in it’s 5 th year and as always, promises to be full of inspiration!  Each year I play along with at least a few of the tags, switching it up a bit to accommodate  my stash of supplies.  Here’s my take on the first tag:

Smash books have arrived at Paper Anthology, and I have to admit, before they came in I wasn’t altogether sold on the idea but now that I’ve had a chance to look at them up close and personal I am in love!  Such a fun line of accessories to fill these beautiful journal books with the stuff of our lives – the little things we collect along the way to building a memory.

Inside the green one (my favorite of course!) I found a quote that summed it all up for me – why I scrapbook and it’s importance to me.  I thought I’d share it here:

The truth is that it’s not really about this stuff at all.

It’s about the evidence of living, the proof that I was here.

Thought some thoughts, lived some life.

These bits are simply meant to jog the memory into remembering –

And remembering is perhaps the best way to recycle.

Remember to stop by next Saturday, December 10, for the Hero Arts Catalog preview!

  1. Love your tag! It is fun, isn’t it? I love your focal point…TFS!

  2. I LOVE the tag Elizabeth! Did you make the mini pine cones from paper too? That’s the mini tattered leaves die right? It looks amazing… I love following his 12 days of christmas tags- always fun and different! TFS! I should have gotten some of that glass glitter when I was there.. next trip!

  3. Julie, the pine cones are made using the tattered pine cones die and the rest are from the festive greenery strip die. The glass glitter is lovely to work with!
